Fitness and Mental Health

In my work as a personal trainer and as a paramedic I've treated, trained and interacted with so many people suffering poor mental health. It is such a huge issue for our society, yet we're scared to acknowledge and discuss it. Then there's the prescription medication, which present their own set of issues.

Depression...

It can be crippling, but there is help out there.

This is an issue many of my clients battle. Some of my happiest moments as a coach are seeing them have those little wins...

Arriving for training when they didn't think they could face it, reducing their medication dosage, telling me about a social situation they threw themselves into without a panic attack.

Each session at Lillako is about having a win, stimulating those happy hormones, talking it out, feeling physically stronger and working towards goals.

Lillako is about lifting each other up and building strength. Inside and out.

I want my tribe to grow strong and confident and to know they can lean on each other when things start to slide. Personal training is a form of therapy. Exercise is an amazing treatment for depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse and more.
